Kelly Lemley is a dog trainer. She needs to be in shape.


So she guards the time allocated to her abdominal exercise routines jealously. Knowing that along with her cardio work out she's making sure she can keep up with the most demanding puppy.

"Most people obsess about the best situps to work the lower stomach," Lemley stated flatly.

"But there's a problem with that. Sit ups work the long muscle situated between your pelvis and ribs called the rectus abdominis. To hit your upper and lower abs and those love handles you must enlist all you abdominals."

"Here's one I do instead," Kelly said. "I do an exercise I believe is called the reverse trunk curl?"

• Lie facing up on the floor with your arms at your sides.
• Lift your knees up over your rib cage
 keeping your upper torso flat on the floor.
• Pressing your hands into the floor to balance, roll your
 hips in a figure 8 from side to side.
• After each "eight" lower back down to starting position.

Shoot for two sets of 10-15 reps for a more sculpted waistline.

This 3-D type movement targets your abs from all angles.

Finally Lemley reported, "Adding this to my other abdominal exercise routines, I found it was a quick way to lose inches on your waist."
