Some Surprising Benefits Of Jumping Rope
Why Exercise Using Jump Rope? Isn't That For Kids?
Kaylee Gebhardt, a 31 year old hair stylist who spent her days on her feet, still liked the benefits of jumping rope.
|
"It's a fact," Gebhardt said, "jumping rope burns more calories (like up to 10 a minute) than almost any other form of aerobic workout you can think of. All the while toning your upper and lower body too. Not bad for a kids exercise."
"Yeah I've got a confession to make," she added. "That last crack gave it away. I always thought jump rope was for kids. But turns out it's one of the most effective ways adults can exercise to stay healthy."
Then she rattled off a list of benefits that come from a skipping rope workout.

You condition your heart and lungs.
Improve your balance, agility and overall cardiovascular fitness.
Build endurance.
You can workout regardless of the weather. Making for one good rainy day routine.
Rope jumping has been found to boost bone mineral density.
Finally calories are burned like crazy during jump rope.
And those are just some of the surprising benefits of jumping rope as an exercise.
"As you can see," Kaylee pointed out, "jumping rope isn't just for Hilary Swank like in Million Dollar Baby either. It should be a big part of any soccer mom's workout exercise plans too. "
