Fast Loss of Weight

Or … Is it Possible to Lose
20 Pounds in Ten Days Safely?

"Is there a way to safely lose 20 pounds in two weeks?" That's the question Caitlin, a 28 year old kindergarten teacher, asked herself when she got her 10 year High School reunion announcement.

"Surely there must be healthy diet plans to lose weight quickly WITHOUT starving!" she tried to convince herself. As she put back the chips and reached for the lettuce and low cal Italian dressing instead.


Well, Caitlin is certainly right. Some can lose 10 pounds in 7 days. But they'll pay a price. Feeling tired and hungry - all seven days.

Yet like Caitlin, the more determined among us will make fast loss of weight their goal. Looking for a way to lose 20 pounds quickly for some special occasion. Like a High School reunion. Or a friend's wedding.

To achieve that they go on a semi-starvation diet. Or sometimes turn to various "diet aids".

Yet any weight loss expert will say this is not the route to permanent weight loss.

But if you have your mind set - here's how to lose 10 pounds in a week.

First start with fasting. Go without solid food for a day or two a week and you may see a weight loss of 2 or more pounds per day.

Then follow the semi starvation diet once used by flight attendants to take weight off quickly. For breakfast eat an egg. For lunch got with a leafy tossed salad and no-calorie dressing. While 3 ounces of lean meat and another tossed salad with no-calorie dressing is supper.

Combining these two fast loss of weight approaches could help you lose the 6 to 10 pounds in 7 days you're shooting for.

Just remember this. When following either scheme you absolutely must drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
