What Kind of Body Fat Percent is Desirable and Best For YOU?

Basically I'd answer that by saying you will fall into one of two categories. Commonly referred to as either 'fit' and 'acceptable'.

Looks like fit would more describe the ideal body fat percent? And if you're not fit then the "acceptable" option gives you something to shoot for.

Still the bottom line question is to ask "Is my percentage going up or down?" So it might be good to look at how to calculate this.

The first approach is to use a specially designed bathroom scale. That combines decent accuracy and low price. In fact one that got the approval from both Consumer Reports and Good Housekeeping was the the Taylor Body Fat Analyzer. That was model 5553. You might find one at Walmart for under $35.

Pros: Convenience as household appliance and ease of use
Cons: Accuracy of this approach varies depending on things like your hydration level (too much or too little water).
