Marge had to keep reminding herself that calories are calories. Even if the source is fruit like a banana, before you inhale a bunch, you may be wondering "How many calories are in a banana?"


That might be a good to know if you wanted to follow the latest USDA guidelines that include loading up on fruits and veggies. So if you were curious about how many servings of vegetables are you supposed to eat how does at least five daily servings of the stuff sound?

Of course if you do that, what's going to happen to the ole calorie count for the day?

You ask because even though all Americans need to eat more fruits and vegetables, calories are calories. No matter the source.

So even if they come from fruit, (which at least sounds better than a Big Mac) you may still want to know how many, right?

Well yeah. Now that you mention it. I don't wake up every morning wondering how many calories are in a strawberry either. But with weight loss and fitness always on my mind, I do wonder at times about all those apple slices and asparagus spikes. (No it's not the butter I put ON the veggies. I use a light dusting of olive oil thank you very much.)

Yet five servings is a lot isn't it? At least it sure sounds like a lot.
