What About Jumping Rope For Exercise?
The Ups and Downs of a Daily Jump Rope Workout
When faced with the prospects of getting into a workout routine she could live with, Terry Frissora asked philosophically, "What choices are there besides exercise? A plus size wardrobe? Not that there is anything wrong with that!" she hastened to add.
|
But she had to do something as slowly she had noticed her fitness level slipping. And the scale never lies.
"When researching the issue of is jump rope a good exercise I learned a few things," she reported. "For one I wanted to know is it possible to get a good workout at home. And it is."
"Two I saw this as a simple fitness tool," Frissora explained. "No expensive machines to buy that might ultimately end up as dust collectors. No club memberships required. I mean c'mon. When thinking high tech work out equipment, jump rope doesn't usually come to mind, now does it?"
|
"Then too," she added, "when it comes to jump roping as a workout what you see is what you get. One of the more fun, efficient, self-paced cardio workouts to do at home. While watching TV, a DVD, or just listening to up beat music."
"And when I saw the answer to how many calories does rope jumping burn, I was in. Just ten minutes gives you a calorie burn of between 100 and 130."
So what's not to like? Pencil me in on the list of those jumping rope for exercise and loving it."
